Week #7-8
Torn Drawing
Step 1 FIND: This week you need to gather several types of papers from around your house. Look for magazines, coloured paper, newspaper, mail etc...Try to find various colours if possible. Then, find a cardboard piece from a product in your house-cereal box, amazon delivery box, pizza box etc...Cut the large rectangular portion and use this for your backing.
Step 2 CREATE: Tear the various papers into small pieces and create a work of art using the torn paper. There are no rules, this could be a landscape, a portrait, or an abstract piece. If you have glue then glue the pieces down as you work.
Take a photo of your finished work and post it to your website or to your Instagram page!

Week #6
Virtual Museum Tour
While it’s hard to beat the experience of seeing artwork or important historical artifacts with your own two eyes, the digital age has made it possible—easy, even—to visit some of the world’s most famous museums from the comfort of your own home. For this week's assignment you will need to visit one of the following three virtual tours:
The Louvre www.louvre.fr/en/visites-en-ligne#tabs
The Dali Museum www.salvador-dali.org/en/museums/dali-theatre-museum-in-figueres/visita-virtual/
The National Gallery of Art www.nga.gov/
While on the tour, select one piece of artwork to display and discuss on an instagram post or on your website. You will need to include the following pieces of information along with an image of the work:
Who created the art?
What medium did they use?
Where was it made?
When was it made?
Why did they make it? What was their purpose, intention or message?
Don't forget to post and tag me when you're finished if you are on instagram!

Week #1
Hello! This is where you will find your learning opportunities each week. In order for you to share them with me (and possibly with each other) you need to create a visual portfolio. I want this to be as easy for you as possible and so, with that in mind, I want you to choose a platform you are comfortable with. My suggestion is that you create an artist instagram account. This will not be a personal account but a school friendly one that allows me to see what you have been working on from home. You can share images, videos, stories and other examples of your learning. Another option would be to create a Wix website or a Weebly one like this. They are very user friendly and you can include blog posts, videos, image galleries etc...I have found that they don't work as well from a phone, you will need a computer, ipad or laptop in order to edit the site properly. I am also open to other suggestions. If you have another way you would like to share your work please let me know. Also, if you have limited access to technology, please let me know. Once you have decided on which platform to use and started an instagram page or website (or other) please share the handle or site address with me so I can see your work :) If you have any questions I will respond to emails as quickly as possible. Please do not DM me. I hope you are all keeping well and I look forward to seeing your beautiful work.
*I will also be setting up a zoom meeting if you are interested in connecting with me and each other. This could be a way to troubleshoot, have your questions answered and chat with each other.
